Looked After Children with SEND

Mr C Minikin is our Designated Teacher for Looked after Children, he works closely with the SENCO, Mrs S Channell, to ensure all teachers in school understand the implications for those children who are looked after and have SEN.

The PEP is a record of what needs to happen for looked after children to enable them to fulfil their potential and reflects any existing education plans, such as an EHCP or a SEN Support Plan. The PEP should reflect the importance of a personalised approach to support the child’s educational outcomes and achievement. The PEP is the joint responsibility of the local authority and the school.

Outcomes on a child’s PEP and Support Plan will be reviewed regularly in collaboration with parents/ carers and pupils.
