This half term we have been ‘Down in the Jungle’; we have had great fun finding out about different jungle animals and we have been enjoying some wonderful stories about jungle animals. Below are a few of the books that we have used as inspiration for our learning.
We have also been looking at a range of non-fiction books to help us find out more about the different animals and minibeasts.
Our Special Elmer
After enjoying various stories about Elmer, we worked together to create our own pieces of patchwork art using food colouring and pipettes. It was a great fun exploring what happened to the colours as they mixed together on the kitchen roll. We then used our creations to make our own unique elephant to display in class.
Outdoor Play
We engage in outdoor learning every day, in all weathers. We are always amazed and proud by the wonderful play that takes place in our outdoor classroom. Take a look at some of the fabulous learning that has taken place so far this term.
Sensory Explorations
In nursery we provide the children with lots of sensory experiences. We recently explored corn flour and water; it provided lots of opportunities for the children to investigate and explore using a variety of tools and small world resources.
