Wellbeing

Supporting Wellbeing and Mental Health at Montalbo Nursery and Primary School:

Collaborate: We work with numerous external agencies to help children and families who are experiencing difficulty. Our door is always open to children, parents or staff who need to talk. If you would like to discuss the support that may be available to you or your child, please contact the school office to speak to Miss Richardson.

Endeavour: We are constantly reflecting on how we can work to improve the ways in which we support the wellbeing of our school community. We are currently working towards the ‘Wellbeing Award for Schools’.

Inspire:  Children are given opportunities to try wellbeing boosting activities through weekly wellbeing assemblies and related wellbeing challenges.

Miss Richardson is a key contact for concerns around wellbeing. Please contact Miss Richardson by emailing montalbo@durhamlearning.net or telephoning 01833637718.

Wellbeing Award for Schools:

In 2022 we were accredited with the ‘Wellbeing Award for Schools’ in recognition for our work supporting children, parents and staff.

We have several member of staff trained in supporting children with mental health and wellbeing, as well as working with the Emotional Resilience team or other professionals where necessary. Each class has two children as Wellbeing Champions who look out for all of their classmates.
