Happy New Year!
This term we have welcomed some new nursery friends and have started the term off with a ROAR!
Our theme is all about dinosaurs and our first focussed story is ‘Dinosaur Roar’.
Paleontologists
We have changed our indoor tray area into a ‘Dinosaur Dig’ and we are taking on the role of a paleontologist; digging for bones and fossils.
Dinosaur Research
We have also been using non-fiction books to find out more information about dinosaurs.
Skeletons
We even made dinosaur skeletons using a range of creative resources.
Observational Dinosaur Drawings
We encouraged the children to look carefully at the dinosaurs and we chatted about their special features, such as their long necks or short arms etc… It was great to see the children concentrating on their drawings and making specific marks to represent the different body parts.
