Nursery – Summer Term 2019

Mini-beasts

This half term we are finding out about mini-beasts.

Incey Wincey Spider

We have been finding out about spider webs; we searched for webs in the garden, developed our fine motor skills by weaving our own webs and created web inspired pictures using different creative materials.

Slimy Snails

We invited one of our school friends into nursery to talk about her two African Land Snails.

This term we have also linked some of our learning to stories;  we spent a couple of weeks enjoying ‘What the Ladybird Heard’.

We challenged the children to construct some new sheds to house the ‘fine prize cow’.

It was great to observe the children working together cooperatively, talking about their creations and modifying their sheds to improve them for the ‘fine prize cow’.

Visit from Brigitte the Bee Keeper

We invited a local bee keeper into nursery to talk about her bees and the very important jobs that bees do. It was very interesting and the children enjoyed finding out about the special equipment and tasting some of the delicious honey.
