Happy New Year
This half term, alongside our ‘in the moment planning’ we started off by exploring the theme of ‘Wintertime’. The recent snowy weather has been very inspiring, and it has provoked lots of learning opportunities for us to explore and experiment.
We have also been enjoying some wonderful winter themed stories.
We have been finding out about animals that live in cold places, we have investigated ice and the process of freezing and melting, we have been on some some imaginative adventures and we have had great fun exploring the snow.
We have also been learning out about helping animals in the cold weather and we have been making sure that our bird feeders are full up; we like to watch the birds from the nursery window.
This term we have also introduced a new pulley system into our small world and construction area. The children have been learning how to use the pulley safely and have been experimenting with hauling up baskets, boxes, vehicles and much more. It has involved lots of team work, problem solving and perseverance.
