We try to give children and parents good advice about online safety. As we approach the half term break, here is a reminder about the importance of being aware of the types of apps and games your children are accessing.
I hope that you all enjoyed the MacMillan Coffee Afternoon on Friday. It certainly was a great turnout! I thought that the stalls created by the staff were fantastic and I know that the children learnt new skills as they baked copious amounts of cakes and treats in class. We raised around £500 for MacMillan which is superb – I will let you know the exact figure in Friday’s newsletter. Thank you and well done everyone!
I hope that you all had a lovely summer break, have recharged your batteries and created some wonderful memories together.
The new academic year has started with great excitement and the children have settled beautifully into routines. They have enjoyed seeing their friends and new teachers, have been working hard and ensuring that they are demonstrating positive learning behaviours.
On September 17th, we invite parents/carers to meet their child’s new teacher after school. The teacher will be available to chat to until 5.30pm and no appointment will be necessary. It will be a chance to ask any questions or to discuss how your child has settled etc. We hope that you will be able to pop in.
We hope that children, parents/carers, staff and governors enjoy the Summer break. We look forward to seeing the children return on Wednesday 4th September.
Please see the attached information regarding the Flu Vaccination Programme in the autumn term.

Thank you to FOMS for their help organising and running the Bingo Night yesterday. The adults and children present seemed to enjoy themselves. Attached is a list of forthcoming events and information about how you could help FOMS help the school. Thank you.

On Tuesday the children in Dr Greenwell’s and Miss Scott’s classes are visiting the Hancock Museum. We also have a visit from the Centre for Life for Year 6 and Year 2 are orienteering at Staindrop.
On Wednesday afternoon we have Key Stage 2 Football at Staindrop.
On Thursday Reception and Year 2 are on a visit to Tynemouth so all in all it is another busy but exciting week.
