English
In this term we will be reading The Wyrmstooth Crown and basing our work on this. We will be immersing ourselves into the world of dragons and joining Guster and Miranda on their quest to save dragonkind! We will be writing character descriptions, newspaper reports and having a debate as well as much more.
Maths
In maths we will be continuing with our work on multiplication and division before moving onto shape, measurement, statistics and fractions.
Science
In the first half term we are looking at Animals including Humans. We will be doing some catch up work first, looking at animal types, animal structure and the human body before moving onto new learning where we will investigate human and animal offspring, basic needs and the impact of exercise, diet and hygiene. In the second half term we will be looking at living things and their habitats.
History
In history we will be looking at Nelson Mandela. We will be investigating who Nelson Mandela is, what he wanted to achieve and the impact he had on the world.
Geography
Our geography topic is looking at the continents and oceans of the world. We will be learning the names and locations of the seven continents and five oceans. We will also compare continents and oceans to each other.
RE
In the first half term we will be looking at the beliefs of Buddhists. We will learn about Buddha and his teachings, including the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. We will also look at important symbols in Buddhism. In the second half term we will be studying the Christian festival of Easter.
Art
In art we will be developing an interest in art and developing our drawing skills. We can use art as an escapism in these crazy times.
DT
In DT we will be looking at food and nutrition. We will investigate a healthy diet and make a healthy wrap, yummy!
